PHDP Curriculum

Resources Code: PHDP
Date: Sep 28, 2017, 04:56:25 PM

The Positive Health, Dignity, and Prevention (PHDP) Curriculum is a set of 17 modules addressing key issues for PLHIV, including HIV and AIDS basics, sexual and reproductive rights, sexual diversity, continuum of care, and advocacy. It also promotes self-agency, health literacy, advocacy skills and human rights of PLHIV. These modules should be used to further develop the capacity of communities living with HIV and other key affected communities, so that they can help shape the HIV response in Jamaica. The primary audience for these modules is leaders of people living with HIV communities in Jamaica. People living with HIV leaders will likely use these modules in their work as part of a broader HIV response—to share key concepts and, at times, to facilitate modules in the spaces where they lead. This leadership can range from serving as resource people in workplace settings to working and/or advocating with healthcare centres, communitylevel support groups, peers, and family members. While the primary audience of these modules is people living with HIV in Jamaica, the modules could also be used by people living with HIV to work with other stakeholders in the HIV response. Also, while the content of these modules reflects the Jamaican context, they may be adapted to other settings with additional work and consideration
